So you want to know the big new DVD releases coming out in 2009?
Here are a few:
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince – the sixth instalment in the epic Harry Potter movie series is slated for silver screen release in mid-July, and it will follow on DVD soon after. This time round Professor Dumbledore is preparing Harry for the final battle with Lord Voldemort, but is sidetracked by his affections for Ginny Weasley.
Doubt – this gripping drama starring Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman has been touted as an early Oscar candidate. The story tracks a battle of wills between a priest and a principal over the welfare of a student. In cinemas January 2009 and on DVD soon after.
Ghost Town – fans of Ricky Gervais’ character in the acclaimed series The Office will be pleased to see his silver screen debut in this romantic comedy co-starring Greg Kinnear and Tea Leoni. Hits cinemas in February and will follow on DVD.
